Progression of the carious process often leads to early infectious complications in the form of inflammation of the nerve (pulpitis) and the development of inflammation in the bone surrounding the tooth (periodontitis). Also, injury to the nerve and bone can cause injuries. In this case, it is necessary to carry out treatment inside the tooth, or endodontic treatment ("endo" - inside, "odontos" - tooth).
As a rule, endodontic treatment of teeth consists of stages:
• Tooth preparation: diagnostics (x-ray pictures), anesthesia, tooth isolation from saliva (application of the cofferdam), removal of infected tooth tissues and restoration of the walls.
• Treatment of root canals: the search for all channels and the verification of their length (x-ray control), their purification, expansion and disinfection.
• Sealing of channels: homogeneous (without voids) filling the lumen of channels with stable materials with radiological confirmation of quality.
Observance of all stages of work, mechanical and medicamentous treatment, qualitatively performed channel obturation help to eliminate the existing pathology and provide regeneration of periodontal and restoration of the full functioning of the tooth.
